Some people may still be under the impression that the New Braunfels “Can Ban” affects tubing the Guadalupe River. This is not true. For those of you who do not know what I’m talking about, last year the city of New Braunfels passed a new law. This law states that no disposable containers may be brought on the rivers in the New Braunfels city limit.
The can ban does NOT apply to tubing the Guadalupe river outside of New Braunfels
News 4 WOAI’s Delaine Mathieu did an a small article last year addressing the Guadalupe river confusion. There is also a nice side by side comparison that shows what the differences are between the city of New Braunfels and the Guadalupe river. As you can see the Shanty (being located on the Guadalupe river, and our floats never entering New Braunfels) has far fewer restrictions than the Comal River outfitters.
If your thinking about Tubing the Guadalupe river, or in the New Braunfels area, the Shanty River Center is the place to be.
We offer tubes, rafts, kayaks, party tubes, shuttle service, evening floats, camping grounds, cabins, beer garden, tiki bar, BBQ shack, ATM services, Group packages, and more. And once again in case you missed it, the can ban does not apply when tubing the Guadalupe river outside of New Braunfels.
